Golden sweet peas
Golden sweet peas
This superb variety may be one of those used by the father of genetics Gregor Mendel in his experiments on heredity. It is distinguished by its flat, pale lemon-yellow pods, 7-8 cm long and 2-3 cm wide. The young pods are delicious raw, while the wrinkled, reddish-brown grains can be dried and added to soups. This rare and very old variety from India is also very ornamental thanks to its very pretty purple-tinged flowers. The 2 m long shoots must be grown on a support.
