The rural world is booming in Quebec. A new generation of farmers is trying to develop better ways to produce our food. Thanks to these young families leaving the city for the countryside, we are seeing the flourishing of forgotten fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, and diverse meats and charcuterie. But how can we survive in a system designed for industrial agriculture? How can we keep the faith despite the intransigence of the rules? This comic book project is based on a long-term journalistic investigation. Making sure to reach out to all the stakeholders involved, Rémy Bourdillon followed the daily struggle of a dozen farmers for a year, battling the only union in place, the Union des producteurs agricoles. Through these women and men, this comic strip sheds light on a unique situation on a global scale. A co-production of Atelier 10 and La Pastèque.
