Building a Natural Cellar - Claudia Lorenz-Ladener
Building a Natural Cellar - Claudia Lorenz-Ladener
Many gardeners want to build a small greenhouse to produce vegetables and fruits for as long as possible during the year. While small standard greenhouses are now available on the market at affordable prices, these are poorly insulated and are often too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Conversely, solar greenhouses, that is, heated passively by the sun, without (or with a minimum) non-renewable source, are better tempered and allow for almost uninterrupted vegetable production. This book explains how to design and build a solar greenhouse, and presents numerous examples of its construction (freestanding, lean-to, or semi-enclosed greenhouses). It also explains how to redesign, without breaking the bank, a standard greenhouse so that it does not heat up too much in summer or cool down too much in winter.
